Microgrid ESS-PV Solution for Island Resort

Summary

In this solution, a 0.5 MWh advanced lead acid energy storage system (ESS) with 210 kWp rooftop photovoltaic (PV) array was integrated into an island resort microgrid to improve the microgrid resilience and reduce the carbon footprint of electricity generation.

Our in-house proprietary microgrid controller was used to optimized the energy mix in the microgrid such that the PV-ESS hybrid system became the primary power source for the resort while maintaining microgrid resilience with zero outages for the comfort of our customer’s guests.

The solution has reduced our customer’s reliance on fossil fuel generators by 70% and provided them with long term cost savings.
