Genplus hosts visit by Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr Gan Kim Yong

SINGAPORE (8 April 2022) – Genplus was honoured to welcome Minister for Trade and Industry Mr Gan Kim Yong to our office on 7th April 2022. The ministerial visit sought to understand better the market for energy storage systems (ESS) and how Singapore could better position itself as a hub for ESS around the region.
Genplus Managing Director Lim Ming Chiat led a tour of our factory floor and office premises.
During the tour, Mr Lim demonstrated some of our inhouse R&D efforts and our current product development pipelines, offering an insight into our battery assembly lines and laser welding system. These are equipment and instruments that Genplus uses for production of first-life batteries and are critical machinery for Genplus’ operations.

Mr Gan also witnessed our engineers dismantle an EV battery at our recycling stations. These batteries are repurposed into second-life batteries for lower intensity applications, which contribute to our efforts toward sustainability. We concluded the tour by demonstrating to Mr Gan an example of a typical 40-foot containerized solution that we have deployed for our clients.
